Program Details

Tour Details:

In the morning, reception at the airport and transfer to our operations office in Iquitos (brief orientation to the main tourist attractions of the city along the way).

Transfer to Nauta City (approximately 100 km / 2 hours from Iquitos).

Upstream navigation on the Marañón River to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve (80 km SW of Nauta / about 2 hours).

Observation on the way of a great variety of birds including herons, hawks, horns cries, jacanas, parrots and parakeets. So it is possible to see dolphins in the river.

Tour Details:

Observer birds leave their nests for food in the river, including cotingas, macaws, parrots, vultures and probably the harpy eagle.

Breakfast in the camp.

Excursion to the Cocha Shansho lagoon (1 ½ hours) following the course of Yanayacu - Pucate. On the way, giant trees of Lupuna (Ceiba pentandra), Capirona, Capinuri (Heliocóstilis scabra) and birds like Toucan (Pteroglossus), Macaw (Ara macao), Macaw (Ara ararauna), Great White Egret Kingfisher (Chloroceryele).

Bird watching or "Hoatzins" (Opysthocomus hoazin), which feeds on the shores of the lagoon.

Regreso al campamento y almuerzo.

Excursion to see monkeys and tails (Saimiri boliviensis), "tamarins" (Saguinus fuscicollis) and sloths (Bradypus variegatus).

Morning excursion in the Japanese creek and Yanta Laguna where you can observe birds and fish. Among the species of fish found in the reserve are piranhas (Serrasalmus), shad (Brycun americus), sardines (Triportheus), among others.
Lunch.

Canoe ride at night to appreciate the views of the reserve at sunset.

Navigating the Yanayacu - where it is possible to see pink dolphins of Pucate (Inia geoffrenssis), "taricayas" locally known as river turtles (Podocnemis unifilis) and probably otters (Ptenerura brasiliensis).

Arrival at the place where you will put the next camp.
Lunch on the river looking at the beautiful landscape.
